Public occupational therapy services for school aged children are provided through the DEECD (Department of Education & Early Childhood Development) or Catholic Education Office. These are organised through request to the school that the child attends.
Private occupational therapy can be accessed via a Chronic Disease Management Plan (GP) or a Better Access to Mental Health (Mental Health Care Plan - GP or paediatrician).
Previous funding through both the Helping Children With Autism package (FAHCSIA funding) or the Better Start for Children with Disabilities package is now covered through the NDIS (see above).
